The Great Leap Forward is the finale of fourth season. The name comes from a program in late 1950's China. It is (in retrospect) almost certainly the series finale of the 4400.

Season 4 ends with Seattle in chaos and NTAC asking Promise City for help. Meanwhile, Kyle's life is in danger and Jordan attempts to escape from the Marked. - TV Guide

[edit] Synopsis

Danny realizes his ability when his mom becomes ill. He brings her to a hospital and others become ill reminiscent of Devon dying from taking promicin. His ability is to spread promicin like a virus. NTAC realizes half of the hospital population will die and half will gain abilities. They think the virus is contained to just the hospital when people at NTAC start dying, including Brady Wingate. Diana is unaffected by the viral transmission of promicin, and it is discovered that she has an increased amount of ubiquinone in her body from her previous encounter with promicin. This discovery is used to help contain the promicin infection throughout Seattle, as ubiquinone is a readily available nutritional supplement, and can be used as a protective measure by the population. As time progresses, Marco, Meghan and Agent Garrity all show signs of developing abilities.

With The Marked now in control of Isabelle, they send her on a mission to kill Kyle Baldwin. She almost does then backs off at the last minute and decides she does have a choice, comes back to the Marked safehouse. There she kills bodyguards before killing Rebecca Parrish and almost killing herself. She is able to get into the room where Jordan Collier and Tom Baldwin are tied up and frees them, then she dies on the floor.

Isabelle is killed. Seattle becomes Promise City. Kyle arrives at home with a vial of promicin for Tom.
